The darkness can be overwhelming
Taking over your mind and soul
You scramble and stumble
Fighting your way free.
A flash of light
A foothold awaits
A new day seeks
A fresh start wakes
The flash
Caused by joy
Caused by tears
Caused by relief
after many years
The darkness lurks, hoping to overtake
The fear waits, hiding in your heart
But slowly it heals
Slowly it breaks
Slowly the flash truly awakes
Awakes your mind
Awakes you soul
Awake at last, commands the flash
Love, light
The eagle soars at last
As your eyes open to the flash
