Lady Sings the Blues

May 14, 2010
Her voice, like vanilla and cigarettes,
carries through this place,
allowing each to experience
its
silky,
sultry,
sweet,
assonance.
Circling, entwining around
the head-
a high, effortless note
conveying emptiness
and longing
and desperation;
a barren vessel
coated in a
slinky
scarlet
gown.
