Helium Fusion And Formicidae
Even though we're in here,
hiding from everything out there,
we can see the shadows made by shifting clouds
through the glass panes,
lightyears away.
your chest rises and falls like the horizon;
heavily,
labourously,
but reliably
every rise and fall promising another rise and fall,
another day
and yet...
and yet,
the tears slowly crawl across my cheeks -
ants
moving single file,
purposefully,
one after another.
the longer I stay,
the more ants that come.
but the longer I stay,
the better.
