brook
my sister used to take me
high in the valley
where the trees were so many
you couldnt even tally
just a little further
is a trail we often took
our prize lay before us
a quiet bubbling brook
the fish swam happily
as the water shines in the sun
the chipmunks chatter noisily
running and having fun
a bear snoozes soundlessly
flinching now and then
nature sings so quietly
no disruptions from loud men
a rabbit hops away fearfully
a streak of white fur
a cat pounces quietly
nothing but a purr
green green everywhere
scattered here and there
lilies whisper gently
swaying without a care
clap of thunder lighting flash
animals scatter everywhere
hiding from the raindrops
theyre given quite a scare
