Enveloped in a thick steam,
I sit in a pool of
hot, dirty water.
Beads of sweat roll down my neck and forehead.
I try to focus
only on breathing.
inhale, exhale. inhale, exhale.
On keeping my heavy head
above the water.

I have scrubbed you away
with a scratchy sponge and
cheap, girly soap – “hope” scented.
And now, I am Alone,
Naked, Raw, and Bleeding.

Your poem made me laugh. Even though I knew it was not ment to be funny. I hardly know what to make of it. But I'l say this much, I kept thinking about it till I had it memorised.
