Well, little brother, I’ll tell you:
Life for me ain’t been no sunny day.
It’s had rain,
And snow,
And hail storms in it,
And times when the sky isn’t blue and flawless and crystal-
Dreary.
But all the time
I’ve kept on walking,
And pushing against the wind,
And avoiding tornados,
And sometimes I’ve walked all by myself
Where no one was there to hand me an umbrella when I was soaking and scared.
So boy, don’t lose your confidence,
Don’t you stop walking
Cause you’ll find it more difficult to continue when you bail out.
Don’t you get blown by the hurricane-
For I’ve been walking, honey, I’m still wandering about,
And life for me ain’t been no sunny day.
