found forgiveness for my father

i forgive you
but only for me
i forgive you
to set my soul free
from all your heart ache
and all your pain
i will not be the victem
no more of me will you claim
i wont let you control me
with your tears and guilt
i am not the one
that tore down everything i built
your constintly falling down
and you only get up
for some temporary happiness
then agai you are stuck
i forgive you
but i wont be your crutch
i forgive you for me
because if not my heart is not much

omg!!!! i so understand this it isn't even funny. i've experienced this same emotion over and over and OVER. i have a poem that i have not yet posted that is so similar to this its crazy. it s practically screaming "i will not let you control me" and talks about the conflict between respecting and honoring my father and doing what is in my own best interest. thankyou for sharing!

i have a father who doesnt want to grow up either! he loves being a kid but he also knows when its time to be a parent. i love the emotion in all of your poems. you have a wonderful way of conveying what you really feel
