The Definition of Beauty
Beauty is supposed to be
In the eye of the beholder.
But that is not the case for me
I believe that beauty belongs only
To my future loves and I
Yes, when I look in the mirror
I see a nice face
But it's not beautiful
I see lips
But they do not make me
Ooooh and aaah in delight
I see eyes
But I do not gaze at them
Like the stars in the sky
Because beauty cannot be measured
Nor can it be seen
With only a mirror for reflections
And decent eyes for physical sights
So I look inside my heart
And realize
That I am somewhat homely
I have mean spirited ways
Lies and deceit
Sometimes cover my face
Like makeup on my skin
I hurt others intentionally
I fall short of grace
I am sometimes rude
Who am I to judge?
The beauty of others?
Everything that looks wonderful?
Simply is not
Beauty cannot be judged
It can only be observed
So when you look from afar
Because I go on more
Than what I can see
