His eyes like blue sapphires,
With determination glowing inside
Blink at me.
His shoes squeak against each other
As he runs to get his lollipop.
Everywhere and anywhere he goes
He drags his little blanket, “toot,” along—
His most valuable possession.
In sadness, one image,
Always comes to mind;
His eyes like blue sapphires
With determination glowing inside.

The author's comments:
In school, we were assigned to write about 7 free verse poems; i decided to write each one about something different that I care about. I have a baby brother named Ben, and so I wanted to write a poem about him, and in it i tried to describe a few of the things that i can see him to everyday.
