When i write a poem

When I write a poem,
The whole world stops,
Birds gliding in mid air come to halt
Baseballs 3 cm. from the plate freeze
And the world becomes silent
No car horns
No chattering
No cell phones beeping,
No iPods blasting
The breeze stops blowing
Waterfalls stop roaring,
Just peace and serenity
The world becomes my notebook,
Filling it with the most precious words
When the poems done
Things go back
And the world doesn’t even notice
