It's your first day of
It’s your first day of
the second grade and
you’re excited. You
make new friends,
even a boy,
Or two.
He treats you well
And eventually asks you out.
You say yes (to many boys).
They all want the same, and your dad,
Worried, gives his little girl limits.
You get angry and argue with him
For weeks to come.
For a time, things seemed to get
Better. You passed chemistry, you
Bought a used car, even started
talking to your old man again.
One day, you come home
chest out, chin up high,
you’re ready to face your
fears but fall crying
in his strong arms.
Daddy, I’m pregnant.
