Thirteen roses
The brightest shade
Of red
Petals still dewy
With life
And you laughed
Asking
Why I got you
Thirteen roses
When it’s no
Secret
That I liked you

I answered:

Thirteen, because that’s the
Number of things I love about you

Thirteen, because that the
Number of dates we’ve been on

Thirteen, because …

The florist told me so.
