A Hero

By , Camden, DE
Taps played,
The sounds of the gun salute echoed in the air,
and the uniform man handed my eldest cousin the flag.

As Shane crushed the flag to his chest,
my world stopped,
with the realization that I would no longer see my uncle again.

On looking around at all the tears,
I knew I was not alone,
In miss my uncle, a fallen fire-fighter, a hero.
