At first
you are
my new friend.
I want to embark with you
on 88 black and white
musical buttons.
but you are too big for me.

After a few years
you are
my worst enemy
that keeps me inside
away from my childhood.
My parents are obsessed
with you and me.
I'm getting tired of you.

And now
you are
a silent teacher
I'm obsessed
about what I can do with you.
You teach me things without words
but harmonies.
We can create musical visions,
masterpieces.
We'll find the melodies
I would have never known.

You were once
my new friend,
my worst enemy

But always
a silent teacher.

I was going to quit piano lessons but I figured I'd regret quitting when I was older, and now I like having the skills to play.
