I remember
I remember walking in the new gym seeing my future teammate's faces for the first time.
immediately seeing that person i wanted to be like.
seeing the old faces as well as the new faces of people i wanted to meet.
sitting alone wondering who would be my friends with or if i would be friends with any of them.
I remember sitting on the bleachers watching them go through drills and hoping i would fit in.
wondering what they thought about me and worrying about it. almost too much.
one girl telling me “if they think bad, don't let it bother you, not your fault.”
knowing that the girl who told me that would end up being like a big sister to me.
I remember when i talked to my classmate for the first time, and knew we would be best friends
forever.
and I remember everything was fine, and that changing. over and over again.
