Not All Words Have Meaning

Not all words have meaning,
though all carry weight,
the knowledge is dead.
Your mind’s begun to fade.

Long ago, I wandered astray,
to meet the hangman,
with his friends at the Gallows pole.

“Take with you what you will”
he spoke to me,
and so to you, again I will say.

Words have a power,
to bring down the heavens,
or to make the rules of the game.

But they only matter,
If you care what I say.
You can take it in any way.

And if my meanings are hazy,
sorry, I’ve acquired a fog
at the gallows,
In days past, now long gone.
