Nightly Flyer
Anticipation rises as my eyes do close,
Falling deeper yet into quiet repose.
With wings spread wide,
No longer by the rules of gravity do I abide.
Soaring in currents so warm and sweet,
Up so high no longer do I need my feet.
All my troubles left behind,
And no longer is my heart so blind.
Oh how the wind makes my spirit lift,
For I treasure this secrect gift.
Looking to the horizon I see a sight I despise,
Falling gracefully back down as the sun begins to rise.
Meeting again my troubles as my feet touch the ground,
Open my eyes to see it is again to the earth I am bound.
So now I must again wait for tonight,
To go back and be free of troubles
In my nightly flight
