Follow your heart.

It's been so long since I've seen the light.
My lifetime has been a starless night.
I thought we'd always be together, then she was lost forever.

I hear her name whispered in the morning air, taking hold of me.
I began to search for her voice, a voice lost in ebony.
Just when I was at the peak of despair, I came to a place where stars were shining everywhere.

A new voice was singing to me.
Bringing back a mosaic of memories, a mosaic that had been shattered, battered, and spread apart...
It was pieced together by that voice... that voice from an angelic heart.

Broken free of my misery, lost in a realm of memory, I begin to cry as the past flashes before my eyes...

"Don't go, don't leave, come fade away with me. We can be stars... stars in the night. I promise... I promise...
Everything will be alright.
There's still so much... so much I want to do.
But I'll rest in peace, just as long as I have you."

Her parting words stab into my heart, as I silently wish to die.
But I'm still here for a reason... that truth I cannot deny.
I cast away my regrets, as I gaze upon the fiery sunset.

I will join her one day, sonetime far away.
We will be stars in the night.
Things will be alright.
We will shine brightly, for billions to adore.
We will shine together forevermore...

I lost a friend a few years ago. Then the other day I heard a girl singing who sounded just like my late friend.

I just wanted to point out that this poem was inspired by Amanda Lee. She is "the voice"
