Looking back
She was so adorable
She was so free
Was so happy and alive

So many pictures
So many lies
What happened to that little girl
With the sweet smile and the big brown eyes
No one knows
What happened to her

She wanted someone by her side
Her secrets became her friends
They lay together locked inside
Didn’t want to let them go

Life’s magical grip is what she craved
Sweet adventure and deep love
Wanted to fly away but strength never came

Knew what lay ahead
Hope
So she waited

She had lost her way
But she knew she would find it someday
Knew she would look back and say
She was me
