At the Park
Around me I see yellow-brown grass
and fallen leaves and a motionless surrounding
I hear cars in the distance
their growling motors growing louder as they near
only to quiet again as they speed away
I feel the rough surface of an old table
the paint peeled away by time and ruthless juveniles
The smell of winter,rain
and night fills my nostrils
The taste of candy and soda fills my mouth
Never have I noticed such a beautiful things at the park
Now I walk away
with songs by Hawthorne Heights
blasting in my ears
