I Want To Be Poetic
I want to be poetic, deep and brooding,
every word I say should have a second meaning.
I want to rhyme and sing beautifully,
not screech out another psalm.
I want to have some grand adventure,
Swing around a sword and save the day.
I want to be eccentric, outlandish, peculiar,
not this cliché freshman kid.
I want my fingertips to weave stories in the sky,
and make the elves dance circles ‘round my home.
I want to be poetic,
a variation from the norm.
