"It was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen, it was blood" ~ Silence - A Fable by Edgar Allan Poe

Silent clear nights prelude deep black shadows
Only in the valley of the end
A dismal wasteland of the dearly departed
Filling poor troubled hearts with dread

Soft cries cut the threads of silence
Trails of spotted crimson color the land
Her evanescent body perched upon the well
A silver scabbard gripped in her hand

With a single thrust her body descends
Cerulean eyes fixed in Death’s stare
A darkening veil fluttering to the ground
As silence returns to the somber air
