"How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today?"

Standing in this deserted plain, not a single soul to be found.
I look around, searching, for something.
But don't know what, maybe I'm looking for something i lost, something I've never had....

That's when I turn and see, a flower.
The only flower that I can see for miles and miles, and I think.
What's it doing here, the only one?
Isn't it lonely? Longing for someone?

Then it comes to me, am I like this flower?
Out in the open, because I'm longing for someone?
Can I learn a lot from this little thing, this inanimate object?
Does it know why it's here, out here?

In the middle of nowhere, all by itself.
Or, did it just want to get away?
Away from wherever, couldn't take it so left.
Or, was it waiting for someone and they never returned, so it left, never to return.

It was just an idea of me standing out in the desert and seeing a flower.
