Favorite Quote:
When your in love, don't go to your love. Let your love come to you.
-Me-

the arms of the cactus stick out
like that boy, Kek
an ebony coat on the upper half,
standing as a coat in the not-so-cold air
prickly spines jut through the thickness
a layer of snow covers the ground
but it's gone within a minute
it's nature up against time
sadly, time is winning

they love the snow, the cold, the wind
but it's never there to visit
always somewhere else

somewhere where the snow glistens
where your breath comes out as clouds
where winter shows its place

I thank Katherine Applegate, author of "Home of the Brave", and my language arts teacher, Mrs. Napier. I got the idea for this poem by reading the first poem in Applegate's book, "Snow."
