You, My Parents
I’m trying to decipher right from wrong
And trying to figure out where I belong
I try and impress you with what I do
And I never feel your gratitude
I don’t do drugs, smoke, or drink
And really don’t care what other kids think
I only care about the way you feel
And that’s why to you there’s so much I conceal
I hide a lot so you won’t disown
Because without you guys I’d be alone
You, my parents, are dear to my heart
I wish I could pay you back but I don’t know where to start
