Pieces

I had everything going for me
The simple things most people
Wish they could have
A place to call home
A real family who cared
I had book smarts
But lacked common sense
I was dealt all the right cards
Just didn't play them right
Although I made mistakes
I was blessed with a second chance
There is nothing I can do
To take back my wrongs
So I have to move on
Show I can do right
What's done is done
I cannot change the past
But what I can do
Is make a better future
Like a broken puzzle
My life may have been in pieces
But I picked them up
And put them back together

This is good! Maybe try to use more figurative language than literal statements, like the lines, "I was dealt all the right cards/ Just didn't play them right." If you make all of the lines more of that speed, it will be great!
