"This is the message-lift up your hearts, all will come right. Out of depths of sorrow and sacrifice will be born again the glory of mankind." -Winston Churchill, Address to the Allied Delegates, June 12, 1941

We all start young,
From the womb we’re sprung.
And we all learn our lessons,
Inside our school sessions.

We all learn to lie,
Until the day we die.
We all learn to cheat,
And enjoy our deceit.

We all grow up,
And become corrupt,
And we get our jobs,
And live like slobs.

We better ourselves,
With the books on our shelves,
Because we think we’re better than another.
Why do we ever even bother?

We all get old,
That’s what we’re told.
We lose our friends.
They meet their ends.

Then we all burn down,
That is if we don’t drown,
Or if we don’t get shot.
All I know, is hell’s gonna be hot!

I was in kinda a very bad depressive mood while writing this... I wasn't sure what it's classified as, so I guessed free verse. Follows an AB rhyming pattern.
