A quite sound reaches my ears.
Water upon water,
the sound is near,
it’s here.
A drop kisses my skin.
I wonder,
is it a sin,
to love the water?
I watch the water strike the ground.
It falls,
it falls all around
making such a beautiful sound.
There is a puddle.
Nearby I huddle.
This is where the sound comes,
water upon water.
I watch the water fall.
Little ringlets ripple
from where the small drop fell
into the puddle.
I open my mouth,
tongue stuck out.
A drop falls from the south
onto my waiting taste buds.
I know it’s just water,
but it tastes so sweet
like the joy of a hundred centuries.
Don’t you believe me?
And it smells like the forest
after a storm.
I can smell the pine
and the essence of time.
Rain is a magic
no wizard can master.
Rain is a joy
no imagination can muster.
Rain falls.
Rain rises.
Rain falls and the rises
only to fall again with a new memory.
Water upon water,
the sound is near,
it’s here.
A drop kisses my skin.
