Dark and eerie
Trees bristling against each other
Speaking the unspoken

Roads empty
Everyone sleeping
Unaware of their surroundings
Asleep, in the land of dreams

Yellow streetlights
Shining on the dark path
Revealing the unseen shadows
Fighting the darkness

The grass is wet
Little drops of water on each blade
Still and quiet
As if they appeared by magic

Dead, autumn trees stand tall
Memories of the past
As well as the future
A testament to our will

The silence
Quiet and still
Inhabits the dark night,
And all who dare to look it in the eye
