Love.
I know it’s out there,
but why is it so difficult to find?
You hear those stories about the man and woman meeting and falling in love.
You know,
All that love-at-first-sight crap.
But where are the stories about the rest of us?
The people who fall in love alone.
Of course we resort to blaming ourselves.
What else is there to do?
What happens when you’re falling without someone to catch you?
You lay there on the ground,
Looking down at all your cuts and bruises.
But they seem trivial to the miserable pain escaping your heart.
It sits in your chest,
motionless and shattered into a million pieces,
While you ask yourself if it’s even worth it:
All the pain, embarrassment, and heartache.
But there’s got to be a reason why everyone wants it so much.
A desire for that one special person to share everything with.
Someone who’s just as crazy about you as you are them.
Someone to laugh at your stupid jokes,
Wipe your tears,
And hold you up when you lack the strength.
That someone who will always be there to catch you when you fall.
When the rest of the world is turned away,
They will be right there by your side telling you that everything will be okay.
There’s someone like that out there for everyone,
Or so they say.
You just need to have the patience to stick around long enough for them to find you.
For love to find you.
And when it finally does, it’ll all be worth it.
The pain, tears, and sorrow from those past failed attempts vanished like writing in the sand, Washed away with the tide.
Gone.
Forever.
All that remains is the sandy ground beneath you… love.
Multicolored, soft, uneven love.
