Tracks in the Sand
December 28, 2009
As the sun sets in the blushing sky,
I look back upon the great tracts
Of boundless desert, and see
A sidewinding serpent crossing
My steps, leaving its own tracks
Covering my own.
And as I watch more closely,
I realize that the tracks
Aren’t too different,
And that maybe
It was me
Who was going sideways.
