Tiny Women
Little tiny women
blowing bubbles
on the side walk.
Do you know what you come from?
What you are?
What you will be?
Little blonde girl
happy in your summer
pink and frilly,
blowing bubbles.
Did you know you couldn’t vote?
But Mommy and Daddy tell you
you can be anything.
Did you know people will judge you?
For being blonde
and pink
and blowing bubbles
Little brunette girl
with bruised up knees,
did you know you couldn’t fight?
People tell you to be more girly,
rough work is a man’s job
carry a purse
be more delicate.
Yet, people will judge you for being tough.
So wear those scars proudly
and keep blowing bubbles.
