The Rain
Drops of wet,
Falling from the sky down to my level.
The mighty sky,
Home of thunder and lighting,
Snow, hail, sleet and rain,
Gives me a gift- the gift of rain.
The weather is dry, burning my skin.
It’s been weeks, months, years since this town last saw rain.
But now it falls,
Cooling my face,
Filling the streams and the river.
Now it falls,
The savior of the harvest,
The repairer of the land.
Now it falls.
Thank-you sky.
