Follow your heart.

Memories unfold of the secrets I hold.
Soon my story will be told.
The things I have done for blood and for gold.
Visions of the people I have left in the cold.
My life has been hell.
I've been locked in this cell.
I found found the key, it laid deep within me.
I stood and gazed at the rivers of blood that have been spilled.
I began to wonder:
With whose blood are these rivers filled?
Who has been fed?
Who has been left for dead?
How many innocent lives were caught up in this bloodshed?
Stronger in spirit and in mind.
I've been freed from my bind.
I swear to leave no one else behind.
My beliefs have faded and my feelings for this world have become jaded.
In who can I confide now that so much of me has died?
Not all is lost for within death there is birth.
I will atone for my sins on this earth.

I titled this "The Beginning" because it's the beginning of a change of heart. I let go of all my hatred and I'm searching for something to replace it.
