"Never doubt why you are special, only doubt why you are not."

The shadows casted along the side walk
The remaining whispers of earlier talk
The pool of light illuminates me
I feel in danger and never safe or free

The clouds of black
The grass of gray
The trees like death takers
The benches alone

The park was so lively
Kids dashing around
Dogs barking and people laughing
There are no remains if that sound

I feel so empty
The park so different
The sky no longer blue
The people no longer here
The lamp post is my friend
The only light around
When at first glance
It’s like life in a lonely town

I hear my watch click at the hour
I look up at the light waiting
A second or two go by
The light goes off and the city dies.

I was inspired by different look at something you would always expect to be lively.
