"Blind Obsession"

Whispered promises
Broken truths
Spoken vows of fierce love
Burn upon her tongue
But fall on deaf ears
A foolish man
Seeking love
Blind to her
Always looking for someone else
But never her
Love she does not want
Consumes her soul
A prisoner of love
Bound by his eyes
All he need do
Is speak
And she will follow him
Wherever he may go
Blindly

The author's comments:
This poem is about a woman who fell in love with a man and that love has grown into an obsession. He is her whole world. He loves her, too, but he is always looking for someone, anyone else, because he's afraid to lose himself to her completely, because they have history and outside occurances screwed things up for them and they were both hurt badly, and he doesn't want a repeat of that. But she won't give up.
