I Wish That She Were Mine
A million words couldn’t make her mine, I tried…
A million tears could neither, I cried.
Of all the sad endings of this world’s tragedies,
The saddest one just had to be one of my love stories!
All things are made in pairs- for so has my Lord said,
If she wasn’t meant to be mine, then why had I been made?
And such blasphemous questions came creeping to my mind
My love had made me mad; my love had turned me blind.
And my fake smile did little, to hide the struggle within me
I was not with her, how could I be happy?
I asked Allah for Mercy! I was in need of it….
And then I fell out of love, slowly bit by bit.
But then I met this girl I knew and simply went insane!
Her lips, her eyes, her glorious smile put me in love again.
Its love unlike any other, much stronger than before,
I only wish to have her, I ask for little more.
O Lord answer my prayer: Bring us together!
And let my love be in my arms forever and ever…
