As the rain falls upon the roof,
I hear the pitter patter of my own heartbeat
Crumpled leaves curl into claws
And dust the ground with layers of colors
Fall is the rain, the sunshine
The cold and the heat
Mixing to make the crunch beneath my feet
The promise of winter
Sends summer into our memories,
Vague and faded
But the thought still stretches smiles across our faces
And even though the summer has gone,
Fall brings along more memories to come.
Are you falling for fall?
Are you falling for me?
As I fall for fall,
Fall for you,
I ponder these things.
Fall is the perfect time to fall in love:
Fall with me.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem to welcome fall with open arms and an open heart. Fall is my favorite season, and the feeling of it makes me want to fall in love.
