"I used to put people on a pedestal. How many silver-plated statues have I erected, only to humanize them as I grew to know their vulnerable frailties?"
-Sylvia Plath

That smell of heat and people, drifting from the streets below
Bringing with it the city’s dank musky smell
A cool breeze kisses lightly my cheeks
And leaning over the balcony
I throw a quarter and watch it fall
Twisting in the loving yet lying wind
Dancing to its collision with destiny
With earth
With Buenos Aires

The author's comments:
I find Buenos Aires, Argentina to be legendary in size and mythic in culture. A wonderful, vibrant city that provides the backdrop to a multicultural Mecca.
