What Happened to the Innocence of a Little Kid

We all grow up
We all move on from our childhood
We all say "I remember..."
We all seem to loose an innocence about us
What happened to the innocence of a little kid

We were young and care free
But now all we do is worry
We say i wish i was a kid again
But do we really mean it
We wonder about our future
What happened to that care free little kid

We try to teach our kids the right thing
When we did the opposite as a kid
We try to live out our dreams through them
When we should just let them be happy
We want them to go off to college
But secretly wish they didn't grow up so fast
The innocence about us is lost as we see it in our own children
Everybody wishes that they had that innocence that they had as a kid back
