The Past

I’d rather run
It’s a way to clear your head
Nothing and no one can touch you
When you’re in your invisible shield
Somewhere in your own little world
Where you can leave it all behind

Walking is so overrated
It’s faster to just be saturated
I hate to walk
It’s just like writing with chalk
You pick up dust on your sleeve
Brushing it off, isn’t any good
There’s still that little visible smear

So I’ll tell you once I’ll tell you again
I’d rather run

Running is my definition of free
Being so independent
Making the choices of speeding up or slowing down

Walking is way to slow
It won’t get you there fast
And everything goes by too sluggish
You don’t want to sight see
Just to get out of there
So you turn waling into running
Cause with running everything is already behind you

And you don’t want to look back
So you speed up faster and faster
You want to leave it all behind
Your legs keep accelerating
Like you’ll fly right off the ground

But your brain cramps up
I’d rather run, but I can’t
So I’ll walk
