The great race, every human is running simultaneously.

I run amongst them.

Watching some speed up, and others slow down.

Some completely stop.

I see an unknown face, a stranger lying on the ground.

We all run to different ends, many runners end up where they want to be, though, there are those who don't.

I’ve seen this happen time and time again.

Those who can’t finish the race spend too much energy on distractions, with distractions comes a Lack of motivation, a Feeling of failure, a Feeling of defeat.

We all run in our lanes, our world, our lives.

We run past those who fall, sometimes too hard to get back up.

But do we need to?

However, they still have a race to finish.

I look at this stranger.

But they feel done.

I watch as their struggle slows, they are giving up.

As the runner lies down defeated, they may only need one thing.

I step out of my life and into theirs.

Someone to lend a hand, Someone to step out of their lane, Someone to help them finish their race.

Racing, living, running to our greatest ambitions, our goals, our dreams.

I reach out and raise them to their feet. I stare into the stranger's eyes, and I notice a look of gratitude I have never seen.

We are all in this great race, and there is only one way we all finish.

Together.

I step back into my lane and watch the runner disappear into the distance.

On their way to finish their race.
