L'appel du vide
My Mind
Pounding
The call of the void
Compulsive thoughts
Fill my mind
Pushing me to decide
Whether to spare myself
This time
If I had to choose
Life or death
Would I decide right
Or would my soul
Drift into the night
A fool I might be
But nobody knows
How my brain
Swells and fills
With thought
I want to know
And feel
Normal
Yet my mind
Slips and falls
Into
L'appel du vide

I wrote this poem about the french phrase "L'appel du vide" which means "the call of the void". This phrase is used when people make irrational decisions and the timing of when I learned this caused this poem to be written. It made me think about all of the ideas I either hear or have and how they affect the people who are having them.
