warm breeze
and teacups in the sand
i’ll wear the sundress
and draw daisies on my hand
you’ll sit
and count my freckle-stars
kiss my eyelashes
and say how deep in love you are
sunshine
echoes off your skin and mine
dance along cold shores
bury ourselves in the sands of time
you’ll wait
for my eyes to open
and daydream with me
until we’re blue as the ocean
and i’ll cry when it’s all over
i’ll cry ’cause you never knew
the deeper part of my ocean eyes
the part of me that really loved you
i’ll cry when the ground shall take you
i’ll leave blood roses at your feet
and i’ll pretend i never had a clue
as to how much you really loved me
cold breeze
broken porcelain on the shore
i don’t know you anymore
i don’t know you anymore

I've known this poem since I was in sixth grade. I am now a Junior and it is currently hanging in my bedroom. It's helped me through a lot and helped me be who I am today. I'm so thankful to have found this poem, for it is the reason I am still alive today.

This is beautiful! If emotions could be drawn this is what they would look like!

Very nice. This poem just flows. I usually don't like this type of poem, but I like this. Keep up the good work!

I agree. I doubt I'll be able to come up with anything this good. Beautifully written.

Absolutely Beautiful! I felt every emotion, and could connect to the poem on a personal level. You breathed life into simple words. I aspire to write poetry like you
