A Stranger In My Room
There's a stranger in my bed wearing my clothes,
They get up to go get cereal, or a quesadilla without the cheese,
Taking a pit stop at the bathroom with the lights off,
Scurrying back into my room and locking the door behind,
There's a stranger in my room looking at my mirror,
Wondering what others see in me, whether or not it's true what they say
Applying fake eyelashes alongside her fake smile,
Putting on hair spray to hide the frizz and tears,
There's a stranger in my shoes walking on campus,
Wondering why the professor is bitter when he's been through worse, or so he claims,
Walking up the stairs with an empty backpack and empty heart,
Taking notes on how to save the environment but not her life,
What happened to this girl,
Once full of love, life, and hope
Where did it all go?
Why is the stranger drowning her,
She's been a good girl, don't fill her with coal.
