With the lemon tree comes the best kind of happiness

With the sight of the bright yellow color

The little boy comes running up to the tree

Could it be? Real food growing in my backyard?

As the boy grows, he tugs at the tree

With no desire to actually eat the lemon

Countless evenings are spent tossing the lemons

The little boys friends become fascinated with the tree

They try and prove they are superior

And use the tree as the test

Whoever can climb to the highest lemon is the strongest

As the grown boy becomes less interested with the tree

He desires to be around his friends

Yet the tree is still productive

Long summer days are spent as the teens sip cold lemonade

As the college boy becomes overwhelmed with school

He relaxes under the comforting shade,

Of the luscious green tree spotted with lemons

Finally the man gets married

What better place to take pictures

Than the lemon tree that guided the boy,

Since he first caught glimpse of the yellow color

All the tree’s benefits were passed

To the man’s three children

But one harsh winter caused the tree to go bad

With the tree’s downfall came the man's burial

Life starts and ends with the lemon tree.
