Pinky promise
Like children we hold hands,
Giggling as our fingertips slip between the spaces of our universe.
Blissful I am at first,
Watching you smile at me.
Within those big eyes I find myself drowning in time and time again.
Your touch drives me wild and I crave you more each time you go.
I wish for you to stay,
At some point I did not have to force you to.
But soon the I Love You's feel forced coming from your lips.
The hands that once set my skin aflame,
Grew cold.
Your laughter that filled my head even on the darkest of days,
Ceased to exist.
I see you less and less.
Something has changed,
I do not believe I am ready.
I ask if you are happy,
Your lips say yes but those eyes;
They wander.
This is where I go back to our childish love ways,
I ask you to pinky promise me.
It spoke for itself as you chewed on broken glass telling me yes.
It doesn't matter anyways,
I love you always.
