Sunny Drizzles
Nothing feels more conflicting than
the pitter-patter of raindrops on a sunny day,
Uncomfortable yet so irresistible, bittersweet.
Like eating too much chocolate,
The overload of sweetness leaving my throat raspy and dry
Like finding your favorite book buried deep in the corner of your room
Only to discover that the pages have long faded away to blotchy smudges.
I love hot tea, yet it always burns my tongue
Scalding down my throat but freshness still lingering on my tastebuds
Eyes closed, burning bliss coursing through my veins,
I let it be.
Sorrow and love, excitement and grief
Bittersweet, yes. But more importantly, carefree.
