Favorite Quote:
All we are is an isle of flightless birds
We find our worth in giving birth and stuff
We're lining our homes against winding roads
And we think the going is tough
We pick songs to sing, remind us of things that nobody cares about
And honestly we're probably more suicidal than ever now

If you decide to live by, what you think's wrong and what's right
Believe me you'll begin to wish you were sleeping
Your weeping will creep in your head and you'll cry
But if we wake up every morning and decide what we believe
We can take apart our very heart and the light will set us free

You say I'm your reason,
But why is that so?
You say I'm you only,
But how do you know?

You say I'm the one
Who picks you up off the ground,
But I've never seen you
Lying around.

You say I'm infinity
Living in the stars,
But I've never dreamed
Of visiting Mars.

You say that I saw you,
But I never see.
You say I understand you,
But I'm only me.

You say you'll be mine
For a thousand years,
But we're only living
To fill bottles with tears.

You say I'm a liar,
Heart bitter and cold,
But really I'm fire.
My heart burns with gold.

You say that I'm beauty
Inside and out,
But with the years to come
I know you see doubt.

You say I'm your mercy,
Your give and your take,
But how long until
These heated bounds break?

You say I'm the fortress
That holds our love true,
But am I forever
The person you knew?

You say when I die
My blood will shed cold,
But I'll rightfully take back
My heaven's spot to hold.

You say when I'm me again
I won't think myself
And that I should put the drugs
Back on the shelf.

You say that pain
Is just a way to live,
But I think it's an expression
From all that I give.

You say I was put here
For others to grow stronger,
But I can't hold them up
Any longer.

You say you're the one
Telling this to my mind,
But really, who are you?
I can't see you. I'm blind.

The author's comments:

One night, my mind exploded into creativity, and this is what came out. Sadly, This poem hurts me because it is too true. I crawls in my brain and haunts my every move. It lurks in my shawdow, and although I don't what it to be me, it has already become me. It is another side of me no one sees. It is not just a "good" poem as so many who have read it hastily told me. It is a poem of me. It fell out of my mind as if it were pushed. It calls for you, but it is me.

Thank you so much. You don't know how much it means to me that my poem touched you so. I had no idea how my writing affected people.
