"You're a great wizard, Harry."
"Not as good as you."
"Me?! Books! And cleverness! There are more important things, Harry--friendship, and bravery, and--oh, Harry, just be careful."

You ripped me from my mother's womb
and told me to stand
You got me started walking and then
you dropped my hand

You took all of my toys away
and yelled at me to cope
You introduced me to some "friends"
and told me not to mope

You dragged me up and down and back
and never let me cry
And through it all I never heard
a single reason why

The author's comments:
One of the cruelest everyday things in our world is the expectation that everyone will be able to handle transitions. What for some is only a rest area along life's journey is for others a haven unlike any they've ever had, but rarely have I seen that place attachment respected.
